A woman fascinated by animals has turned a piglet and a cat into best friends by letting them live in the same house.

Jody Fraser moved to the countryside last year with her two cats, dog, and turtle. “That was the beginning of my fascination with all animals,” she told Calgary Eyeopener.

All the animals live under the same roof, making them inseparable friends. About three months ago, Fraser adopted a piglet who now lives with her and her other animals at home.

“He’s the coolest, most laid-back pig ever,” she said. “I’ve always loved pigs. So it’s kind of funny that now I have one of my own.”

Although most of the animals get along well, two of the species have become especially close. Wilbur, the piglet, who is now five months old, has become best friends with a new 12-week-old kitten named Billy.

“From the start, these two became best friends. They just love each other. I’m not sure where it came from,” she said.

The two animals not only sleep together but also make sure each other is clean. “The pig will actually clean the kitten, and every once in a while, you’ll see the kitten cleaning the pig’s ears. It’s pretty funny.”

Because of their bond, Fraser isn’t sure what to do once the pig grows bigger. “I was just going to keep him inside because he’s still so small… but I might need to put him outside in the spring,” she said. “I hope I still decide to do that, but he’s become part of the family now, so I don’t really see him leaving the house.”

Fraser says Wilbur is not only cleaner than her cats and dog but is also trained to go indoors. “I have one of those kiddie pools, and that’s where he has to go. But he originally started with the kitty litter box, and he was trained in just a day or two.”

When he’s not napping with Billy, Wilbur spends time outside with the chickens or goes on walks. “We have a little ramp that leads to my backyard where the chickens and other animals are, and he goes out, runs, and plays with them.”

Since sharing her little updates about her animal family, Fraser has gained popularity on Facebook, Instagram, and even TikTok. “Every day they do something silly. I always have my camera with me, so I just post five or six pictures of their antics every day.”

Her pages feature all of the animals in the house, but viewers especially love Wilbur and Billy, so the pair might soon get their own account.

Fraser also talks about her wish to adopt more animals. “I can’t bring any more animals into the house, obviously, even though I would. But I’d love to have some goats and a donkey someday, maybe in the spring for sure.”
